Everest Base Camp Trek- Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in the exciting city of Kathmandu - Transfer from the airport to a centrally located hotel with lovely gardens for full Trek briefing.
Day 2: The famous flight to Lukla airport! - 4 hour easy trek to Phadking.
Day 3: Trek to the famous mountain town of Namche Bazar high in the mountains at 3600m.
Day 4: Acclimatisation day. climb high to the Everest view hotel for a hot chocolate and your first views of Mount Everest. Spend the day relaxing in Namche, visit the local cafes.
Day 5: Trek to Tenbouche , one of the highest monasteries in the world at 4000m - 5 hours walk.
Day 6: Trek into thin air, high into the Himalayas to reach Dingbouche - 6 hours walk
Day 7: Acclimatisation day, 4400m. Short walk and relax to get used to the high altitude.
Day 8: Trek up to Lobouche along the famous Khumbu Glacier at 4700m - 5 hours walk.
Day 9: Trek to Gorak Shep and climb the mountain of Kala Patar at 5550m for amazing picture views of Everest - 6 hours walk.
Day 10: Trek to your final destination of Everest Base Camp, 5350m.
Day 11- 15: Descend the mountain range back to Lukla to arrive back at Kathmandu, relax and celebrate your ultimate achievement.
This is is not a standard trek by any shot, Dom's insight into the mountains, special routes we took and Sherpa staff we used only comes from someone who knows the Everest region well and he does because he has climbed to the top!
